Hey there, I'm Iva.

Hey there, I'm Iva.

Some of my favorite titles are mommy, tía, sister, and wife. For more than a decade, I’ve been on a heart-expanding journey immersed in the wisdom of nourishing the body, with a deep focus on supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My path into birth work has been shaped by years of doula care, plant-based nourishment, and hundreds of hours of herbal and birth education while learning alongside mentors, midwives, and holistic healers.

Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of working within a beautiful community of birth professionals, including lactation consultants, pelvic floor therapists, massage therapists, chiropractors, and other postpartum practitioners. These relationships allow me to support families with a well-rounded, collaborative understanding of pregnancy, birth, and recovery. I’m also trained in infant and child CPR and bring a calm, grounded presence to every birth space.

Motherhood has also shaped my work in profound ways. As a mother of four, including the loss of one of my children, I’ve learned how deeply grief and love can coexist. This experience deepened my commitment to offering grief-conscious support, helping families who have experienced loss feel safe, held, and empowered as they move into a new birth experience.

At the heart of everything I do is what I lovingly call abuela medicine—an intuitive, nurturing approach rooted in tradition, nourishment, and deep care for the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. I believe birth and postpartum support can be truly transformative, and that when families are nourished and supported in this way, the ripple effects can reach far beyond the birth space.

When I’m not supporting families, you can usually find me reading a good book, watching a great movie, exploring my ancestors’ Latin culture and wisdom, or soaking up sunshine outdoors. My husband and I love cooking plant-based meals together with our kids, experimenting with new recipes—something I also love sharing with the families I support during postpartum.
